2008 College Football Ratings by Dick Soule Ratings are based on season-to-date on-field performance only by assigning a value to each game played based on (1) winning/losing, (2) the opponent's record, (3) the records of the opponent's opponents, (4) the margin of victory (modified by the rating of the opponent), and (5) the opponent's division level (FBS, FCS, II, III, NAIA, JUCO). Ratings are normalized to a 100-point mean with a standard deviation of 15. The value of each individual win/loss will change as the season progresses. Rankings
