Dick Soule was born in 1949 in Riverside, California. Both his father and his maternal grandfather were Navy doctors. Not surprisingly, he spent a couple of years in the Navy himself, but has spent most of his work career in education-related activities. Currently, he is Director of Business Development for a small, Florida-based company that develops and administers examinations for certification and licensure. Dick is a graduate of Dartmouth College, obtained his Master's Degree at the University of New Hampshire, and completed doctoral coursework (but never his dissertation) at Utah State University. He has lived in California, Pennsylvania, the Philippines, Washington DC, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Utah, Georgia, and Colorado. He currently lives with his wife in a moneypit house in northern Delaware. Their daughter and her husband live in Seattle. Dick's spiritual journey has included stops in nearly as many places as his travels, but he and his wife were introduced to the pure gospel in 1986 by a loving brother and sister in Atlanta. Since then, they have been blessed with three wonderful churches: the North Atlanta church of Christ in Dunwoody, GA; the Evergreen Community church of Christ in Evergreen, CO; and, our current church home, the Newark church of Christ in Newark, DE. I highly recommend any of these churches as wonderful loving groups of Christians. Visit them if you're in any of the areas. At the Newark church, Dick currently serves as deacon for the Adult Teaching Ministry, coordinating the regular schedule of classes. He loves to teach since he says that's the best way he learns. When he's not working at his job or with the church, he enjoys woodworking and skiing in addition to writing. |
